Last June, our junior high school students embarked on a transformative journey at Toyota Motors. Where they had remarkable opportunity to spend two days of life experience at Toyota Motors, immersing themselves in the dynamic world of automotive business. This visit was more than just a tour; it was an in-depth exploration of the various facets of the automotive industry, offering our students an invaluable real-world experience.
Day 1: Introduction to Toyota's Organization and Culture
On the first day of their practical learning experience, our students were introduced to the inner workings of Toyota Motors, mirroring the company's new employee training program. They gained insights into the company's structure, including its various departments and the roles they play in the organization. This session emphasized the diversity of industries within Toyota and highlighted the importance of continuous improvement through ability-based tests and regular training sessions.
After the informative lecture, the students embarked on a guided tour of the company's facilities, observing the entire process from vehicle delivery to final inspection. This firsthand experience prepared them for the hands-on activities scheduled for the second day, ensuring they had a solid understanding of Toyota's operational flow and organizational culture.
Day 2: Exploring Business, Customer Relations and Hands-On Learning
On the second day, our students expanded their understanding of the automotive industry by delving into Toyota's public relations and customer service sections. This experience offered them a behind-the-scenes perspective on how Toyota cultivates strong relationships with its customers, from effectively handling inquiries to ensuring customer satisfaction at every touchpoint.
Following this, the students moved into the heart of Toyota’s operations. They took an active role in inspecting cars and engines, gaining a practical understanding of the detailed processes involved in vehicle maintenance and repair.
The hands-on learning didn’t end there—they also participated in car washing, where they learned the importance of meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of vehicle care.
Throughout the day, the students not only observed but also assisted in various tasks, gaining valuable insights into the skills, dedication, and professionalism required to excel in these critical roles. This immersive experience was instrumental in deepening their appreciation of the diverse career paths within the automotive industry.
Performance Evaluation and Certification
A highlight of the visit was the evaluation of our students' performance by Toyota's experts in each section they worked in. Our students received valuable feedback, helping them understand their strengths and areas for improvement. At the end of the visit, each student was awarded a certificate by Toyota, recognizing their participation and the skills they demonstrated during the experience.
